If you wish to visit these memorials, Liz’s is at the intersection of Kent St & Mcguinness Blvd, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. And Angel’s is on the North side of Northern Blvd, btn Prince and Main St, in Queens.
We have many more photographs of these memorials, and hope to post more of them on our Flickr site, so check there in the next few weeks for more images. My condolences go out to everyone who has lost someone special to them in a bicycle accident.

it making me sick that we are still installing these memorials.
i wish we were cutting cars apart in the memory of how cities were designed so poorly, that vehicles were obsolete, and peak oil did scare the shit out of some excutives that they were collecting vegetable oil from the local Mcdonald’s…
hey like george carlin said
“i can dream, can’t I!”

This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. A ghost white bike will make anyone stop, look and read the plaque you have posted. I wish I can see one of these.

These are amazing.
Anyone know how the stencils are made? They look too perfect to be handcut.

amy — these stencils are hand-cut and take about and hour and a half with an x-acto knife. slow and steady. when you see them up close you can see the cuts.
