Mexico City Throw-ups

Mexico City Etching

There Are Things That Can´t be Changed

Graf From Metro

Stickered sign in Coyoacan

Swoon in DF

Im finding tons of Graffiti in Mexico City, and im trying to take pictures of ALL of it. Of course I´m having an exetremly difficult time doing that, since it rivals Sao Paulo (usually), as the largest city in the world. With over 23 million people, theres a ton of writers and folks putting up all kinds of stuff. I haven´t found anything as unique and unifiying as pixação, a brasilian lettering style, although the layers of paint and paper is similiar to NYC, and super beautiful. There´s a buttload of freehand graf, etches, scratchies, and tags. A fair amount of stencils and stickers. Wheatpasted posters and paper are what I´m finding the least of. I hope to post a whole bunch more later in my travels, and talk of some art collectives that make ¨spectaculos urbanos,¨ billboard alterations! and write about the bad ass projects that folks have been sustaining here, so keep an eye out!
The stencil in the third photo translates into ¨There are many things that don´t change, and the heart is one of them…¨
