I found these while walking down University Ave in Manhattan the other night. Totally clever and placed in a pile of sad X-mas trees after the slaughter of the holiday.
Made me smile.

It doesn&#8217;t really take much when Hollywood gives you the best materials to work with. I know nothing about the film being advertised, and I think its F-ed that these are all over billboards in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. This neighborhood has some of the highest incarceration rates in the whole city!

	In suburban and rural areas, highways are often plastered with homemade wooden signs that advertise local businesses, or more often evangelize with Christian messages or Bible versus.  Josh MacPhee put his own spin on this tradition by making these stencils on found wood and bolting them up around Brooklyn and Troy, NY.

The works are unsigned - but one could note that the methods appear to be: photocopies adhered to pieces of aluminum flashing, three coats of outdoor/U.V. protected varnish, and then attached to telephone poles with one-way screws.
